story

Set in the near future, biotechnologist Dr Imani Njeri is assigned to a remote government facility seedbank. Working alongside RENO, an AGI assistant, she is tasked with overseeing the management and protection of the world's most vital seed stores.

As the end of Imani's secondment approaches, unsettling news of a virus outbreak threatening global food security reaches the facility, placing Imani in a deeper state of reliance on RENO as the urgency of her task - protecting the seeds for the future of humanity - becomes ever greater.

As the outside world begins to fracture and the fear of ambush escalates, Imani must face an uncomfortable truth about her dependable companion...

SophiA BROWN

Sophia Brown is a British actress best known for leading Netflix’s The Witcher: Blood Origin as Éile, a warrior-turned-musician whose journey anchors the fantasy prequel opposite Michelle Yeoh.

She has also appeared in Giri/Haji (2019), Hard Truths (2024) and Down Cemetery Road (2025), showcasing her range across both genre and character-driven drama.

Sophia plays the leading role of Dr Imani Njeri, a biotech engineer caught in a world of artificial intelligence manipulation.

MORTEN BURIAN

Morten Burian is a Danish actor known for his work in film, television and theatre. He is best recognised for his performances in Speak No Evil (2022), The Promised Land (2023) and Deadline (2022).

Morten plays Dr Nielsen, Imani’s boss at the Global Co-operative Initiative.

Amanda Collin

Amanda Collin is a Danish actress known for her roles in A Horrible Woman (2017), Department Q: A Conspiracy of Faith (2016), The Exception (2019), The Quiet Ones (2024), The Promised Land (2023), and the HBO Max series Raised by Wolves (2020–2022).

She voices RENO, the AGI system assigned to Imani.

indra ové

Indra Ové is a British film, television and stage actress who has appeared in Resident Evil (2002), Interview with the Vampire (1994) and The Fifth Element (1997). Her TV credits include Sex Education (2021-2023), Unforgotten (2018) and Star Wars: The Acolyte (2024).

Indra provides the voice for Imani’s mother.

Rob Hifle

Director

Rob Hifle is a multi-award winning Director and Co-founder of VFX studio Lux Aeterna. With over 30 years experience in film, TV and commercials, he has directed and supervised visual effects for clients such as Netflix, BBC, Universal, Disney+, PlayStation and Rolex.

For RENO, Rob draws on this experience as a director, shaping the film’s creative and technical approach. The project is supported by MyWorld with UKRI funding as part of an R&D programme into next-generation storytelling.

Abiola Ogunbiyi

WRITER

Abiola Ogunbiyi is a London-based screenwriter who has developed work for Netflix and ITV, and participated in labs with BBC Writers and TorinoFilmLab, winning a series development grant. She is currently writing two feature adaptations with international production companies.  

With a strong focus on character and theme, Abiola’s writing on RENO explores trust, control, and humanity’s evolving relationship with technology, bringing depth and emotional weight to the film’s futuristic premise.

Louie Blystad Collins

Louie Blystad-Collins is a UK-based Director of Photography with over 25 years of experience spanning drama, feature films, commercials, music videos and documentaries. His work has reached global audiences, with three feature films ranking in Netflix’s Top 10 in the past two years.

Renowned for his distinctive use of lighting and atmosphere, Louie brings scripts and characters to life with images that resonate emotionally, whether for the big screen, television, or digital platforms.

Sam Sneade

Editor

Sam Sneade is a UK-based film editor with over 20 years of experience across features, commercials and music videos. His credits include the BAFTA award-winning hit I Swear, Sexy Beast, Birth and festival titles such as Emily and Two Neighbours.

Renowned for his sharp narrative instinct and precision pacing, Sam brings depth and clarity to every project he works on.

Paul Silcox

VFX Director

Paul Silcox is a creative director, VFX artist and design-based filmmaker. With a background in visual effects and a strong design sensibility, he has built a career delivering high-impact, immersive work across film, branding, and visual storytelling.

He co-founded Lux Aeterna in 2022 as VFX Director.

Tav Flett

VFX Supervisor

Tav Flett is a compositing supervisor with extensive experience in feature film and television visual effects. 

At Lux Aeterna, he has helped lead projects for major studios, shaping pipelines and delivering high-end compositing on a wide range of productions from Netflix’s The Crown to BBC Studio’s Solar System.

Timo Marc Baker

music

Timo is a composer for film and television, known for emotionally charged scores defined by tension, texture, and scale. Blending orchestral composition with transformed sound and electronic processing, he creates richly atmospheric worlds that move fluidly between intimacy and cinematic force.

A former alt-rock artist who toured with acts including The Prodigy and Feeder, he brings a visceral instinct for momentum, dynamics, and dramatic impact. Based between the UK and The Storm Room in the French Alps, he crafts impactful scores for international film and television.

Neil Davidge

‘Seed Mother’ Theme

Neil Davidge is an acclaimed British composer and producer, best known for shaping the sound of Massive Attack, co-writing and producing landmark albums including Mezzanine, 100th Window, and Heligoland. He has collaborated with major artists such as David Bowie, Snoop Dogg, Damon Albarn and Mos Def. 

As a composer, his work spans film, television, and games, including the record-breaking Halo 4 score, the BAFTA-winning Sitting in Limbo, Britannia, The Fear Index, and Apple TV+’s Criminal Record.

Theresa Larché

Theresa Larché is a UK based producer with over 25 years of experience across commercials, series and film. Her most recent credits include features The Drifters and soon to be released Modem and short films - The 4Love Triology for Film4, They (BBC Comedy), Poppy Day (BSLBT) Meatmylk (Film4/BFI).
